If he pushes himself into a service and ambitiously emphasizes its importance and significance, then he is incapable of doing that service. Joy in being small, in being allowed to do a modest task in humility, in being allowed to do a job in spite of one's smallness ....

Wenn er sich zu irgend einem Amt drängt und die Wichtigkeit und die Bedeutung dieses Amtes ehrgeizig betont, dann ist er dafür unfähig. Die Freude am Kleinsein, dass man einen bescheidenen Dienst in Demut tun darf, dass man trotz seiner Kleinheit eine Arbeit tun darf . . .
