Georg Barth: It is clear what the messengers have to tell. It is facts, which are worth reporting, and in which it is worth working and dealing. It is the fact that Christ is the ruler, that he is the ruler of all lords, that he is the king, that he commands and, further, that the kingdom is near.
We should really accept what he says, the kingdom of heaven is near. The beams of his activity already go out in advance; very specially we know it in the fact that it brings about unity, that the church is gathering together, that there is a gathering of the believers. All those who are certain that Christ is the King, and who know that his kingdom is near, those who really believe, who recognize this, in them the kingdom is already taking effect.
Of course we are clear that this activity does not continue uninterrupted among us human beings. We are weak and every day interruptions occur through our sinfulness, through our departure from it, through us doing other than the will of God. The fact of sin is also a reality, but it is not the final reality. It is not the highest reality. That is only given in Christ. He has overcome the satanic powers through his Cross.
So we must come before God each day and give him the honor, and ask him that we receive strength more and more strongly and more and more clearly to live his rulership, to believe in the fact that he is, and that his kingdom is near.
And in these days we want to ask very specially that those he has appointed for it, will be met by his call to go out into other lands. So, in our smallness, we want to come before God and bend our knees, and lift up our hands, that he may fill them, that he may fill our hearts, that he may fill and inspire our whole life.

Was die Boten zu berichte hab n, ist klar. Es sind Tatsachen von denen es zu berichten gilt und in denen es zu wirken und zu handeln gilt. Es ist die Tatsache, dass Christus der Herr ist, dass er der Herrscher aller Herren ist, das er der Koenig ist, das er gebietet und ferner dass das Reich nahe ist.
Wir sollen das wirklich annehmen, was er sagt, das Reich der Himmel ist nahe. Die Strahlen seiner Wirkung gehen bereits voraus; ganz besonders wissen wir es in dem, dass Einheitswirkung geschieht, das sich die Gemeinde sammelt, dass die Versammlung der Glaubenden geschieht. All die, die gewiss sind, dass Christus der Koenig ist und die wissen, dass sein Reich nahe ist, die das wirklich glauben, die das anerkennen, in denen wirkt bereits das Reich. Sodass wohl nicht zuviel gesagt wird, das das Reich bereits angebrochen ist. In denen die glauben ist das Reich bereits in Wirkung.
Freilich sind wir uns darueber klar, das die Wirkung nicht ununterbrochen unter uns Menschen geschieht. Wir sind schwach und taeglich geschehen die Unterbrechungen durch unsere Suendhaftigkeit, durch unser Abwenden von dort, durch unser Anderstun als den Willen Gottes tun. Die Tatsache der Suende ist auch eine Wirklichkeit, nur ist sie nicht die letzte Wirklichkeit. Sie ist nicht die hoechste Wirklichkeit, sondern die ist alleine in Christus gegeben. Er hat die satanischen Maechte ueberwunden durch sein Kreuz.
Und so muessen wir taeglich vor Gott treten und ihm die Ehre geben und ihn darum bitten, dass wir Kraft bekommen, immer stärker und immer deutlicher sein Reich zu leben, an die Tatsache zu glauben, dass er ist und dass sein Reich nahe ist.

Und in diesen Tagen wollen wir ganz besonders darum bitten, dass diejenigen, die er dazu bestimmt hat, von seinem Ruf getroffen werden hinauszugehen in die Lande. So wollen wir in unserer Kleinheit vor Gott treten und unsere Knie beugen, und unsere Hände erheben, dass er sie füllen möchte, dass er unsere Herzen füllen möchte, dass er unser ganzes Leben erfüllen möchte.
